Just a short letter to let you know that we are quite impressed with the solar thermal heating installation which has been in for about a month now.
We found the solar installation by your team, which was completed within a single day, to be quick, efficient, clean and overall a very good job. We have noticed the following changes in the central heating since the solar installation:
- The boiler does not come on as much as it did, and when it does fire up it is only for short periods of time. This was noticeable almost immediately following the installation of the solar thermal water heating system.
- The hot water is held at a steady temperature during the day and we do not have to run the hot tap for as long before the hot water is being provided.
- The solar panel installation generates heat (about 50-60 degrees C) on an overcast day and about 150 degrees C on a sunny day. Considering that this is Winter Sun which is not as strong as Summer Sun, this is really surprising.
Overall, a very good product, professionally installed, which we would be pleased to recommend to anyone considering a solar power installation in Dorset.

To Whom It May Concern,
We’re not ‘greeny, save-the-planet anoraks’ but do have our concerns about fossil fuels running out and had for sometime, wanted to reduce the amount of energy we use in our 4 bedroom detached house. Gas never seems to stop going up!!!!
We still have 3 grown up daughters living at home. It goes without saying, that with 5 adults all showering every day, we use lots of hot water! In the winter, our heating never gets switched off. It was becoming imperative we did something to help. We have already sourced the UK’s ongoing best value gas and electric suppliers but we wanted, if possible, to reduce our energy bills further.
Steve Randall of Save Energy UK Ltd came to visit and explained everything. Immediately, we had confidence in the company’s service because he went through all our questions and we knew what would be happening.
A team fitted the solar tubes, a new water cylinder and other necessary pipe work all in one day! That was impressive. We were pleased that we were buying a British product and fitted by a reputable firm.
Since the tubes have been fitted on 1st July, on sunny days, the solar tubes have heated the water so hot that all 5 of us can shower everyday. We had a few cloudy days and the water wasn’t really hot like we’d been used to, so I telephoned Steve Randall to see if anything was wrong. He was amazed to discover that we hadn’t even had our central heating boiler on to kick in on such days! To compensate for cloudy days, we’ve set our boiler to just kick in for an hour in the evening cycle.
Needless to say, because we haven’t had to have our boiler on for over 2 months, we’ve only used gas for the kitchen hob and our electricity has reduced too! Our energy bills are now so low even our sceptical friends are considering having solar energy. In fact, we now believe that we will see a financial return on our money sooner rather than later.
